Born as Ranjana Ujbal, she was placed at Pandita Ramabai Mukti Mission at the age of three, after her father left and never returned. Growing up in the orphanage, she received not only education and shelter but also a powerful example of love from the caregivers who served selflessly.
Their compassion left a lasting imprint in her heart, inspiring a lifelong calling:
“One day, I will also serve my community the way they served me.”
After her studies, she left her job to commit herself fully to community service. In 1997, she joined Vyvan, where she trained to support women and children in vulnerable conditions. This planted the foundations for the future Akruti Life Foundation.
Dr. Joshua Emmanuel, earlier known as Nisar Ahmed, came from a Muslim family and endured a painful childhood. He lost his father at eight, faced poverty, and suffered sexual and emotional abuse. Growing up amidst struggle, he experienced what it means to be unprotected, unseen, and unheard.
Later, when he surrendered his life to Christ, he discovered healing and a passion to protect children who live the pain he once carried.
